When I ran the Great North Run last year I'd only covered 13 miles twice before in training and found the last few miles on the day really tough. With 3 months to go before this years run, I'm hoping to get up to that distance pretty soon and cover it a few more times in training so its not such a shock on the day. So... With that in mind, extended the usual romping donkey route this evening, covering 9.3 miles in 1 hour 28 mins. Not such a great time, had to stop and walk a few times from about 7 miles, temperature was humid at 24'c which was really energy sapping. Had a raging thirst by the end of the run, but worth it to get a few more miles in!
